HUF founder Keith Hufnagel started skateboarding in the late 1980s in New York City. At the time, skateboarding was just not accepted: it was punk rock, it was hip-hop, it was a counter-culture of outcasts poorly understood by the public. It was a way of life that would eventually shape Hufnagel's outlook on life.

There are three types of caps: the "Snapback" made up of 6 panels. , the "FIexFit": full cotton caps with internal elastic support, and the "Truckers" with a foam panel on the front and a nylon mesh on the back, adjustable size.
